iPad to Eventually Support Multiple Users?

If you surveyed hundreds or even thousands of iPad users, I think you would find that multiple accounts would be near the top of the list of most wanted iPad features. Many families share an iPad, especially families with children, and people have wanted a way to restrict content to a single user since the iPad was first released.

According to one developer who got in touch with Apple after submitting a suggestion, Apple might indeed be working on separate iPad accounts for multiple users.

The developer, who contacted AppleInsider with the information, suggested to Apple that the company add support for multiple users on the iPad.

Apple’s official response read, “After further investigation it has been determined that this is a known issue, which is currently being investigated by engineering.”

The developer said that he or she has frequently used Apple’s Bug Reporter to suggest new features, but this is the first time that Apple has responded to one of the submissions.

Will we see multiple user support in iOS 6? Is this a feature you’re hoping Apple adds? Let us know.

    In a word, NO.

Absolutely, yes. Allowing multiple users to log on would be extremely useful. I run an iPad program at an intermediate school and being unable to track activity by user is frustrating.
