Warner Brothers Starts Selling 1080p Movies on iTunes
Warner Brothers, the studio behind movie hits like Batman Begins, Clash of the Titans, and The Dark Knight, has begun offering part of its catalog in 1080p HD on iTunes.
The aforementioned titles, along with movies like I Am Legend, Perfect Storm, Terminator Salvation and V for Vendetta are for sale in the popular media store for just $14.99.
Higher demand titles, such as Superman II and Sherlock Holmes can be purchased for $17.99, while new releases like Happy Feet and Justice League: Doom are priced at $19.99, comparable to the price of a Blu-Ray in a brick and mortar store.
Warner Brothers also has some in-demand high definition box sets for sale, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy for $44.97 and the extended version for $59.97.
The new high resolution titles are likely designed for Apple’s new 1080p Apple TV that was released alongside the Retina ready third generation iPad, and iTunes now supports high definition video from nearly every movie studio.
