A Sugar High You Will Never Want To Come Down From — iPad Game Review

Sugar High is an adorably sweet endless runner that is sure to make your teeth hurt and your tummy rumble with delight. (Biscuit isn’t the only one dreaming of marshmallow clouds and candy stick slides.)

Players control a cute little dog named Biscuit who is dreaming about gobbling up all of the wonderful sweet treats in his mind. Tap to start Biscuit running and let go to make him jump. Tap again to try to stick a perfect landing. The better the landing, the faster he gets through each level.

Biscuit will run, jump and dive as you tap the screen. If he lands too early, he will slow down and lose points, if he hits the hill just right, he will keep running as fast as can be and eventually unlock achievements for perfect landings.  As Biscuit flies through the air, he gobbles up various candies and cavities, which also unlock achievements.

The graphics are very cute. The art is a fantastic mixing between children’s storybook and surrealism. The sound track is entertaining. The gameplay is challenging. The action is fast-paced enough to have you in knots in no time at all.

What I liked: The art is my favorite part of this game. There are so many interesting things going on in the background that it makes you think of a Salvador Dali painting.

What I didn’t like: The game is very challenging. Starting from the beginning, there is no lead up to learning how to play. It is just go-go-go. I’d like to see a training round or even a separate practice level.

To buy or not to buy: This is a great game for the whole family to enjoy. The imagery is cute enough to interest young ones and the action is challenging enough to entertain adults. It is a bargain to buy at the $0.99 price.

I can’t believe there are no reviews for this app! It is AWESOME! I’m having as much fun as the kids.

This looks like a complete rip-off of Tiny Wings. Great fun, but it is entirely based on another game.
