I can remember sitting on the living room floor, cross-legged, with my glass of milk and a handful of My Little Pony dolls, watching The Price is Right when I was a kid. I was fascinated by the game of Plinko. The discs would never just slide straight down and into the $50,000 slot. Players would try all sorts of angles, but the discs would bounce from left to right, landing willy-nilly in some random slot. Scramblies brought back those memories for me because the game is very similar to Plinko, but way more colorful and full of interesting things.
There are “bad eggs” that must be captured. To capture them, players drop “good eggs from above. The eggs can be dropped anywhere from the left to right of the screen. When they fall, they bounce off of nearby pins and other obstacles, eventually landing in one of the slots below.
There are 75 different levels across five different worlds, each with its own set of obstacles. Players earn extra points by hitting all of the pins, dropping at least one egg in each slot on a level, demolishing certain obstacles and all sorts of things.
There are also different playable eggs to unlock, like the Bumble Bee egg and the Patchwork egg.
This game is eggstraordinary (sorry, I couldn’t help myself). It is lots of fun and full of challenges. The graphics are colorful and the sound effects made me giggle. The user interface is well designed and the graphics are fantastic. The price might seem a bit steep, but it really is worth every penny.
What I liked: I love being able to collect new, playable eggs. It adds to the replay value of the game.
What I didn’t like: If there was any single complaint I had about this game, it would be the price. It is a casual game, so $2.99 seems like a lot, but I really do believe it is worth the money.
To buy or not to buy: Oh yeah. Scratch your Plinko itch and download this game. It is fun and challenging, without being too difficult. Please note that the developers are saying NOT to download this game if you already own Coin Drop. It is the same game.
