Everyones favorite birds boldly go where no birds have gone before as Rovio releases Angry Birds Space HD.
Fans of the game have been counting down the days until the release of the new version of the popular puzzle game.
Angry Birds Space includes new birds and new superpowers, and (as always) the cheap thrill of killing a pig.
Rovio is excited about this release. “We are more than excited to bring Angry Birds Space to all our fans worldwide,” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “This launch marks a huge step for us as a company, and our whole team and partners have really pulled together to bring out a fantastic array of exciting products and experiences. We hope that our fans will find all things Angry Birds Space as delightful as the Rovio family does.”
In addition to offering full retina support for the new iPad, the game includes 60 levels. Additional content is available through in-app purchase. Players can also look forward to finding hidden goodies and uncovering secret levels as they play.
Angry Birds Space HD joins the original game, Angry Birds Seasons HD, and Angry Birds Rio HD. It is available for download in the App Store for $2.99. All of these titles are sold separately for the iPhone / iPod touch.
Angry Birds has seeped into the walls of popular culture and expanded the reach of its brand to T-shirts, plush animals, a board game, and even a Nickelodeon special. In anticipation of the new game’s success, Rovio is already offering Space-themed stuffed animals on the company website. There’s even plans to launch a series of Angry Birds theme parks, starting in Rovio’s native Finland.
Where will it end? According to Rovio, with the launch of Angry Birds Space, “the sky is no longer the limit.”
