New iPad Shipping Time Back Under 2 Weeks

Apple is notorious for not having enough iPad stock to meet demand, so when the third generation iPad went on sale on March 7th, Apple’s website was clogged up and slow running for hours as people scrambled to get their iPad orders in before the tablets sold out.
As it turns out, ordering early was a wise decision, because by late Saturday, all versions of iPads available for pre-order were gone, and shipping dates quickly climbed upwards, until iPad-seekers were once again waiting two to three weeks for their shiny new toys.
While those two to three week shipping dates might have remained in place for months during previous iPad releases, this time around, the dates have already dropped as Apple’s secured more stock. You can now order any iPad from Apple’s website and have it in your hands in just one or two weeks.
I’ve heard some rumors hinting that Apple’s tablet has been selling poorly since it’s so much easier to get this year than it has been in previous years, but looking at its sales numbers – 3 million iPads in three days – that’s clearly not the case.
Instead, it seems that Apple simply had more available stock this year, which is to be expected since the company has had two iPad sales periods where it was unable to keep up with demand, and two years to learn from its mistakes.
The third generation iPad experienced a much smoother release than other iPads, which is great for customers. There’s an iPad for everyone, without having to deal with the long lines, resellers, and frustration.
