Save Your Fruit from Gluttonous Insects in Fruit Rumble – iPad Game Review

Fruit RumbleIt isn’t often that the hero who saves the day is a piece of fruit! In Fruit Rumble, you can be the fruit that saves the fruit bowl from insect predators by shooting projectiles (that I would call pits or seeds but the developer calls ‘dice’) and keeping the creepy crawlers away!

The graphics are quite spectacular and colorful. Even though the insects are cartoonish, I have to admit that with my real life fear of grasshoppers I felt a little anxious as those particular ugly little monsters hopped across my screen!

While aiming for the insects can be a little tricky (it would be nice if you could just slide your finger from side to side on the screen to point at your target), taking your shot is very easy and requires only a single tap.

The game features 8 different tables that have different decor and barriers (many items you can even bank your shots against to try and take out multiple insects at a time). You also begin life as a cherry but you do progress to fighting the good fight with other fruit from the bowl as well.

What I liked: The soundtrack to this app will crack you up because the sound effects are adorable!

What I didn’t like: As the game loads there is a notice that it is not recognized by Game Center. While I would expect this is a bug that will soon be repaired, I never like to see an error load with the game. Fortunately it doesn’t appear to inhibit your ability to play this game.

To buy or not to buy: This game is easy to play and safe for the whole family. It will appeal to those kids who love bugs and will enjoy the fact that they creep out mom or dad!
