Griffin’s iPad StudioConnect Connects All Your Instruments In One Place

Griffin Technologies was on hand at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show to present their new portable recording studio, StudioConnect. This supped up iPad stand connects guitar, bass and MIDI instruments to your iPad so you can record a full band and mix tracks seamlessly in GarageBand.

While many other accessory vendors make a range of iPad MIDI controllers, Griffin has managed to combine several key features all in one convenient iPad dock.

The portable recording studio looks like a futuristic iPad stand. It comes with a 1/8” headphone jack and a gain controller on the front. On the back, there is a mono-input stereo 1/4” jack, a MIDI In and a MIDI Out, a left/right stereo output RCA jack, and a DC charger jack.

Each instrument can be plugged into the stand, which will connect to one of many different effects apps available for the iPad, including StompBox, Pad MIDI, AmpKit and more. The instruments can also be recorded through Apple’s GarageBand for full-featured recording possibilities. All of this and the StudioConnect stand doubles as a charger for your iPad as well ensuring you have plenty of juice during your recording session.

The entire StudioConnect is only $149 and is available from the company’s website today. If you are looking for a way to plug in and record multiple instruments, this is the stand for you.
