Thinkgeek, the company behind the iCADE retro-style iPad arcade cabinet, is planning on releasing a new iOS companion device – the 8-Bitty. This new iCADE-branded controller is designed to look like the classic, rectangular four-button Nintendo controller.
The controller, which connects to your iPad or iPhone over Bluetooth, takes two AAA batteries and is compatible with all of the iCADE games, including the classic Atari collection.
8-Bitty is quite a bit more stylish than the gray brick-like controller it’s based on, with colorful, retro-themed 8-bit graphics and a sleek black exterior.
The best part? It’s only going to cost $25, which is far more affordable than the iCADE. And it’s portable to boot, so all you retro-game lovers can take this controller with you everywhere you go.
Unfortunately, this controller isn’t going to be for sale until later this year, so if you’re interested, make sure to head on over to the Thinkgeek website to sign up to be notified when it’s available.
