Parts reseller Eye Lab Factory recently posted images of what might be Sharp-made display panels for the third generation iPad. As reported by Japanese-language Mac blog Macotakara, the 9.7 inch display screen uses a flat cable similar to the one used to connect the iPad 2’s display.
It also appears to support 2048×1536 resolution, which fits with popular rumors for the upcoming model.
Sharp had been rumored to be one of the companies that Apple signed a deal with to make the high-resolution IZGO screens. However, more recent reports claimed that the product did not meet Apple’s strict standards and was rejected.
As more and more mysterious parts and bits of information continue to leak out, the buzz of Apple’s next generation tablet grows. With the iPad 2, the increase in rumors culminated with a March 2nd announcement date. The most recent rumor, as reported today by AllThingsD, is that Apple will announce the iPad 3 the first week in March.
