Numark and Akai Release New iPad Accessories for Musicians and DJs

There are two hot new toys for aspiring musicians and DJs that were recently released for iPad. Fans of djay for iPad (and really, who isn’t?) will want to check out Numark’s iDJ Pro controller for iPad, while anyone planning a home recording session will drool over Akai’s MPC Fly Music Production controller for iPad.

Numark’s iDJ Pro is DJ controller fit for a professional that works with djay for iPad to expand the iPad’s touch screen interface. iDJ Pro connects to the iPad via a 30-pin dock that latches to integrate the two devices, which should give the users a more intuitive and flexible system.

iDJ Pro’s physical controls include:

Touch-sensitive platters
Large volume knobs
Dedicated music library scroll knob
Hot cues
Looping
Pitch and effect controls

iDJ works with the iPad to bring sounds down from the cloud instantly. It is Air Play compatible, and will work with other Core MIDI-enabled apps in addition to djay. Though Numark hasn’t offered pricing information or a release date, DJ Deals is taking pre-orders for $299.99.
