OnLive Desktop, which was announced earlier this week, is now available for download in the App Store. The free app allows users to access a cloud-based high-performance PC desktop that runs the Microsoft Office programs Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Because the applications are streaming and not processed on the iPad itself, they are able to run quickly and smoothly, even when loading animations and videos.
With the app, you can view, edit, and create documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, which are then uploaded to the cloud and accessible on all of your computers and devices. OnLive Desktop functions no matter where you are (as long as you have a 3G or WiFi connection), so you can access and work on projects at any time.
You will need a free account to use the app, which can be created on the OnLive Desktop website. Users receive 2GB of storage for free, and an additional 50GB can be purchased for $9.99.
