Enjoy Quality Time with Your Child and Hiding Hannah – iPad App Review

Hiding HannahWe often think of our iPads as being adult toys, when the truth is that our children enjoy them as much as we do, if not more, especially when we can use them together. Hiding Hannah is a great app to share with your kids that tells the story of a little girl who just can’t stop hiding no matter what is used to entice her… or maybe there are a few things that will work.

This app is a fun game of hide and seek that you can play with your child. Each page gives you an item to look for (mom’s hairbrush or dad’s remote control) and dozens of possible hiding spots. You can choose to have the app give you hints as to where you might want to look (which makes suspected locations flash) or to turn them off to make it more challenging. When you find the item you are looking for, Hannah validates your success by telling you that you have found it!

The catch is that Hannah also likes to hide herself! So on many of the pages it is that mischievous little girl you are looking for!

Other interactive features allow you to perform actions like petting the dog (who will bark happily when you do) or cause mom or dad to sternly remind Hannnah to keep looking.

What I liked: The narrator is Tom Kenny who also does the voice of Spongebob Squarepants. This means he is not only an experienced and entertaining voice but also familiar to many of us (parents especially).

What I didn’t like: It might be nice if there was a male counterpart for Hannah so that little boys could more easily relate to this story.

To buy or not to buy: This is a great app for very young children which is an age group often left out. If you have kids in the 2-4 year age range, I wouldn’t hesitate to grab this app.
