Reign Supreme in Extraction: Project Outbreak – iPad Game Review

Extraction: Project OutbreakWhen a series of experiments on military personnel and POW’s goes wrong, the resulting infected soldiers descend upon the secret facility that is the scene set for this top-down 3D shooter.

Your role is to be the commander in charge of eliminating those who are infected in one of four included game modes: extermination, rescue, repair and escort. Aiding in your mission are a wide variety of weapons to earn and choose from as well as being able to upgrade your armor and fighting skills.

This is the kind of game that makes you forget about console gaming, which is exactly what the developers were hoping for. The graphics are pretty spectacular for being an iOS game and unlike console games, you can do everything you need to in this game with a single finger at the controls.

The tutorial mode helps to guide you through learning the interface for the game which is very helpful. Even though it is simple to play there is a sophistication to this all that will require a little time to get the hang of.

The key to winning at this one is strategy which means using a little common sense and doing a little planning. This is what really makes this game fun!

What I liked: They say a full campaign will take you 4-5 hours of game-pay which gives you a great deal of value for the price of admission.

What I didn’t like: The intro when you first load the game feels very slow and I wasn’t able to find a way to skip it.

To buy or not to buy: If you like the top-down shooter style games, Extraction: Project Outbreak will not disappoint you.
