Bang a Gong in Ninja Throw – iPad Game Review

Ninja ThrowIt is pretty hard to lose on the cool scale when you are working with ninjas as your stars and this app is no exception. While the path of a ninja may be a long and difficult one, if you trust your instincts when it comes to throwing stars it may be an enjoyable one.

The point of the game is to hit the gong on each level using your throwing stars. This may not always be as easy as it sounds because there are obstacles you need to navigate around –some that attract while others repel.

This app promises to engage even the most experienced puzzler and this is absolutely true; luckily the truth they were counting on was that puzzlers love a challenge! I found the ninja training levels tedious and boring but at the same time very necessary so try to hang in there and remember that things will get a lot more fun really soon!

The graphics are quite whimsical and border on goofy which is a perfect compliment to the ninja cliche.

As you work through a level there is a helpful hint that pops-up indicating that a wise ninja always plans his path before jumping, and that echoes my advice to plan first and throw later.

What I liked: If you enjoy a little healthy competition, try to beat each level with as few throws and stars as possible and compare your successes with others online in an effort to be crowned “King of the Dojo”.

What I didn’t like: There is an optical illusion type background on the screen that displays between levels and it actually made me dizzy.

To buy or not to buy: If you can’t resist a game full of ninjas be sure to grab this one too!
