Pogoplug Gives iPad and iPhone Owners Free Cloud Storage

There are a plethora of cloud-based services available to storage-hungry consumers nowadays, but there’s always room for one more in the mix. Pogoplug, a company responsible for several highly-rated media streaming and sharing devices, has an all new offering: the Pogoplug Cloud.

Pogoplug Cloud is designed for mobile users, allowing customers to store, share, and stream content from the cloud to a mobile device. Like Dropbox, the company is offering a set amount of storage for free to all users. Signing up for Pogoplug Cloud will score you 5GB of free space.

With Pogoplug Cloud, users can:

  • Upload and store photos and videos from a mobile device
  • Instantly share anything in the cloud using email, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+
  • Create shared folders to collaborate with friends and colleagues
  • Stream HD videos, photos, and music

The service works through the free Pogoplug app, which is can be downloaded in the App Store. The first 5GB of storage are free, and users can purchase additional storage for a fee. 50GB is $9.95 per month and 100GB is $19.95 per month. For you Android users, there’s a similar app available in the Android Marketplace. The accompanying PC, Mac, and Linux applications can be downloaded on the website, and allow users to upload media and files from their computers.
