Are Your Golf Skills Up To Par? Measure Them In Worms Crazy Golf HD – iPad Game Review

Worms Crazy Golf HDWhat sport isn’t made better with a ‘touch of worms’? The truth is, every game can use them! Worms Crazy Golf HD is the most delightful (and hilarious) game of golf I have ever played and that includes those I have participated in on an actual course.

The premise is simple and not entirely unlike what you would expect: get the ball to the hole in as few strokes as possible. Add in a series of exploding sheep, teleports, ball whacking Old Women, mines and magnets along with lots of other obstacles and challenges and you have a new twist on a familiar theme.

The game features four very silly courses: Britannia, Pirate Cavern, Graveyard and Carnival each with a series of achievements to accomplish. If you have the same obsessive need that I do to accumulate accomplishments, this should keep you busy for quite some time as you try to rack a perfect score (all while coming in under par).

If you actually grab this game because you like golfing, there is enough of the sport to keep you interested. Choose clubs, work on your aim and hone your skills all while enjoying a game with a lot of colorful graphics and visual interest. Leaves flutter around the screen, bees buzz around and the environment is more focused closer to you and blurs at a distance.

What I liked: I needed to stomp far fewer divots practicing my swing on the iPad than I ever have on grass greens.

What I didn’t like: I discovered that my golf skills are about as lousy on my iPad as they are on my local courses.

To buy or not to buy: The stars of this game, the worms, provide much needed comic relief while you play a familiar-enough version of a classic sports game.
