PlugBug, from popular iDevice accessory maker Twelve South, is an iPhone and iPad wall charger that piggybacks onto a MacBook Power Adapter. With the PlugBug, you can charge your MacBook and your iPad/iPhone at the same time, from a single power outlet.
The PlugBug is designed to connect to all MacBook Power Adapters, from the Air to the Pro. Usage is simple: Just snap the PlugBug onto your MacBook’s Power Adapter in place of the adapter’s AC plug, and plug the whole thing into the wall. It’s perfect for instances when you have limited plug space and more than one device to charge.
Personally, I have an iPhone, an iPad, a MacBook Pro, and a MacBook Air. In order to simultaneously charge my devices, which I often do, I have to have an unsightly power strip next to my desk. With the PlugBug, I could get rid of the power strip while still having space to charge everything, which is a major plus. It’s also great for travel, eliminating the need for more than a single charger.
The PlugBug is a 10 watt charger, which will charge an iPad or an iPhone as fast as possible – up to twice as fast as competing chargers. When you only need to charge your iPad or your iPhone, the PlugBug is able to disconnect from the MacBook adapter and act as a stand alone charger.
Mac users outside of the U.S. and Canada are able to use PlugBug as a U.S. adapter and iPhone/iPad charger. The PlugBug converts any non-U.S. MacBook Power Adapter into a North American-compatible adapter and will also function as a USB charger for your iDevice.
