Will AirPlay Mirroring and iMessage Come to Mac OS X?

According to 9to5 Mac, future versions of OS X Lion could include AirPlay Mirroring and an iMessage application. Sources close to Mac OS X say both projects are in development at the moment. Although they are slated for future versions of OS X Lion, it is always possible neither will ever be released commercially.
AirPlay Mirroring for the Mac would function much as it currently does for the iPad 2, allowing the Mac’s display to appear on a projector, television, or external monitor that is connected to an Apple TV. AirPlay video streaming would be added to QuickTime X as well. If it makes running large presentations easier, perhaps this new feature will help Apple TV find a place in the board room as well as the living room.
The information that iMessage be added to the OS X iChat application is more speculative, and initiated from the analysis of a bit of code. According to sources iMessage could emerge as a new native feature to iChat or as a standalone product. Apparently Apple is working on both possibilites at the same time and a final decision has yet to be made. When released the iMessage product would connect to iMessage for iOS, the free messaging application available to any iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad running iOS 5.
This concept video, created by designer Jan-Michael Cart, depicts one simulation of what the finished product could look like:
