Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots to Hit App Store this Month

Halfbrick, creators of Fruit Ninja- currently the App Store’s third top-selling app, has just announce that they will be teaming up with DreamWorks Animation and THQ to bring us their newest slice-and-dice game, Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots.

The follow-up game to one of the most popular iOS apps will feature new modes and unlockable weapons and backgrounds. It will be available on October 20 in the App Store for $1.99 for the iPad and $0.99 for the iPhone/ iPod Touch.

“The fun and adventure of the Puss in Boots world lends itself perfectly to the core gameplay of Fruit Ninja,” said Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer at Halfbrick. “We wanted to create something new and different for our fans while keeping the magic of Fruit Ninja intact, and we think Bandito Mode will keep even the most practiced players on their toes. It’s totally rad!”

Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots will feature two modes, Bandito and Desperado, and will include “The Stash,” which is the place to get new backgrounds and weapons. In Bandito Mode, players must work through a number of increasingly difficult and varied slicing games. Desperado Mode is similar to classic Fruit Ninja, but will incorporate new Magic Beans and enhanced waves and scoring.

The DreamWorks animated film will hit theaters on October 28.
