Real Racing 2 Update Brings AirPlay with Party Play Mode

Real Racing 2With the iPhone 4S release announcement yesterday, news stories about games and apps taking advantage of the new features are starting to cascade out. One of the most exciting racing games available for iOS, Real Racing 2, has given us the heads up that an exciting update has been introduced: party play!

All ready for the release of iOS 5, version 1.12 offers wireless local multi-player gaming by broadcasting wirelessly to your television using AirPlay. Now you can play split-screen with 2-4 players simultaneously!

This kind of gaming experience is going to take mobile device gaming to an entirely new level!

Real Racing 2 is the closest thing you can get to console-based racing games on a mobile device. With spectacular graphics, flawless multi-player mode and a 10+ hour career mode option the game-play is extensive and nothing short of incredible.

I’m dying to give this new version a try because a considerable number of graphics upgrades are also included in this release. Car interiors will be displayed using real-time dynamic shadows and specular lighting while the rest of the game enjoys upgrades to lighting and detail with improved reflections.

Upgraded significantly for iOS 5, AirPlay (formerly AirTunes) is not just audio any longer. With the ability to instantly stream video and audio content from your iOS device, the potential for using your iPhone, iPad and iPod for streaming media just became infinite. In the coming days and weeks we will start to see a variety of games and other apps taking advantage of this capability, and Real Racing 2 will be able to say they were among the first.

The only catch (and yes, there is always a catch) is that you will need an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 in order to take advantage of this update.

So any of you local friends that may be reading this… are you ready to get your butt kicked in a little Real Racing 2?
