Shazam for iOS (Free) now Allows Unlimited Tagging

ShazamUsers of the popular Shazam music ID service, often referred to as “Shazamers”, can now enjoy the benefits of free unlimited tagging in a move that the app developer believes will offer more opportunities for interaction with everybody’s favorite music and television shows.

According to the Andrew Fisher, the Shazam CEO, users of their app (which is available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, BREW, J2ME, Symbian and Windows Phone platforms) are currently identifying over 1 billion songs a year resulting in over $100 million in conversion sales for digital music.

Shazam is an amazing app that allows you to have it ‘listen’ to any song which it will then compare to its database of over 10 million tracks and return with all of the details you could ever want regarding the artist, album and more! Now with no limits set on the number of tracks you can tag there is no need to hold back!

In addition to identifying which song is currently playing, Shazam offers a considerable number of other fun features such as sharing your tagged content with friends via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail, read track and album reviews, purchase concert tickets, look-up the lyrics to your new favorite song and get recommendations on what else you might like. All of this is in addition to the social networking features within the app that allow you to communicate with others who like the same music you do.

For those that want an ad-free experience, upgrading to the Encore app will allow for the use of LyricPlay which shows the lyrics for the song that is currently playing. This is great addition for all of you who like to sing along when a song you like starts playing.

Beginning back before smartphones even existed, Shazam was founded in 2002 and grown to enjoy having over 150 million users of their applications worldwide. They are continuing to grow at a staggering pace with over 1 million new users adding over 4 million new tags each week!
