Fill Swampy’s Bathtub in Where’s My Water?

Its no surprise that Disney’s new physics-based puzzle game Where’s My Water? has been chosen as the App Store game of the week, because this is one fun-filled, addictive app that you won’t be able to put down.

In Where’s My Water? Swampy the sewer Alligator wants to take a bath. Sadly, the other alligators scorn him for his desire to be clean and human-like, so they’ve come up with a plan to dry up his water supply. It’s your job to help guide water to poor Swampy’s bathtub.

To fill the bathtub, you’ll need to dig holes in the dirt using your finger. The game starts out slow so you can learn the ropes, but the puzzles quickly become more challenging. You will need to coax the water around difficult turns and drops, while avoiding obstacles like tainted water and algae.

On some levels, the toxic purple water has a purpose – it kills creeping algae, which normally grows whenever clean water touches it, blocking paths. Algae will need to be avoided, cleared, or outpaced, giving some levels a time limit. If purple water flows into the pipe that leads to Swampy’s bathtub, it’ll end the level, so you’ll need to carefully navigate paths for different types of water.

As the game progresses, elements like levers and high-pressure pipes are introduced. Levers often need to be triggered in a certain order, and high-pressure pipes allow you to direct water upwards and in other directions.

There are three rubber ducks in each level, which must be gathered in order to progress to new chapters. In all, there are 4 chapters and 80 levels to clear. Some levels have special items to find which are added to your collection, for example, toothbrushes, dental floss, and toothpaste. There are also multiple fun achievements to earn.

The physics of the fluid in Where’s My Water? are perfectly executed. The water behaves exactly as you would expect, and thanks to endearing characters and gorgeous graphics, this game is an absolute hit.

What I liked: Levels in Where’s My Water? are challenging, but never too difficult, making this a game that’s great fun, for both lovers of physics puzzlers and for casual gamers. Children and adults alike can enjoy this game, and if a level does get too irritating, the skip level function lets you move on.

What I didn’t like: Some levels are larger than a single screen, and navigating requires using a scroll bar on the left side of the screen, which is awkward to access.

To buy or not to buy: There are few $0.99 games that you will enjoy more than Where’s My Water? It’s one of the most well-balanced physics games that I’ve played, in terms of cost, difficulty, and gameplay.
