Not a Day Too Soon! iPhone 5 to be Announced on October 4th

Just a day after Apple stock took a small dive, it is soaring again on the wings of much awaited news. The iPhone 5 is almost here.

After months of speculation by droves of tech sites, the invitation only launch event has finally been confirmed for October 4th at 10am PST. The debate still rages however, on the exact specifications of the newest iPhone.

The web has been abuzz with rumors speculating on when the iPhone 5 would drop and those not pointing to October 4th have been quashed. Apple sent out cleverly designed invitations today to attend the launch event at the company headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Not surprisingly, the invitations were sent out just one day after Amazon announced the release of their new Kindle tablet (happening tomorrow). All the day-dreams of Kindle tablets may have just transformed into the iPhone 5. Will this news overshadow Amazon’s attempt at iPad competition?

Still at large though are the confirmed tech specs for the new iPhone. Rumors suggest that the device will include the newer, faster A5 processor which already drives Apple’s iPad 2. Other guesses range from an upgraded display to a higher resolution camera. One thing is certain, the launch event will not be one to miss.

Will the news of the long-awaited iPhone 5 completely overshadow the launch of the Kindle? Will Apple’s new CEO, Tim Cook, deliver the same experience we’ve come to expect from Apple?
