Intuit Expands with New iPad Health Apps

Intuit debuted a number of new mobile initiatives to more than 200 guests at their September 21 Innovation Gallery Walk event, including two new apps designed to improve the doctor-patient relationship. These new solutions represent a movement toward improved healthcare provision through the use of mobile technology.
Intuit Health iPad Patient Check-In will replace the paper clipboard used in current patient registration procedures. This should help to reduce the amount of paperwork required in doctors’ offices while also reducing the potential for errors.
Mobile Inbox works in cooperation with the Intuit Health Patient Portal, allowing patients to communicate with their doctor’s office using their mobile device to accomplish tasks such as scheduling an appointment, following up to retrieve lab results of even send their co-pay.
Both of these new healthcare solutions are expected to be available by mid-2012.
Intuit is no stranger to innovative mobile solutions, having already released a suite of mobile apps for a number of financial and productivity related tasks including the successful GoPayment mobile payment app.
The Innovation Gallery Event also showcased a number of other new mobile products created by Intuit, including:
Mobile Remote Deposit Capture – Allows customers to take a photo of their checks and deposit them to their bank accounts immediately using a mobile device. This means fewer trips to the bank branch itself to make deposits and allows for faster access to deposited funds.
Prepaid Debit Card for Intuit GoPayment – Using this extension to their GoPayment system, users will be able to deposit funds onto a prepaid debit card. This will mean increased freedom for businesses to start taking payments as they will no longer be required to provide bank account details.
ProOnGo Expense for Intuit App Center – Built using the Intuit Partner Platform, this app will work with QuickBooks and QuickBooks online to make expense tracking, approval and reimbursement tasks easier for employees.
Founded in 1983, Intuit provides business and financial management solutions to small-mid sized businesses, financial institutions, consumers and accounting professionals.
