Dragons Rage for iPad Calms the Fury In You, on Sale for a Limited Time

Casual games can be a pleasant respite from a hard day.

Sometimes, there is nothing better than coming home from work, sitting down with your iPad, and burning massive waves of villagers into crispy piles of ash. Dragons Rage will help you purge some of your own rage without upsetting anyone in the house with your angry rants. It is currently on sale for a limited time.

The goal of the game is to burn the oncoming hordes of villages, soldiers, and other enemies of the misunderstood beast. It has elements of castle defense type games in that you must fight off waves of enemies that increase in volume as each round moves in. You gain coins, power-ups and gems that will help you increase your ability to beat each level.

Your dragon is stationary. You must tilt your iPad left to right to aim the dragon at the enemy clusters. There is a fireball on the lower right side of the screen that you use to breathe fire and burn the encroaching villagers to dust. You can gain bonuses, like shielding and laser beams in place of fire.

The game is easy to pick up and challenging as time goes by. You will find yourself having trouble putting it down once you get going.

What I liked: How easy it was to play. Although it becomes a real challenge as you play, it is always a fairly simple game.

What I didn’t like: I’ve said this before. I am not a fan of tilt controls on the iPad. As cool as the concept is, it is just a cumbersome object to be tipping and twisting around for long periods of time. I’m not sure if there ever could be a button control capability, but I’d like to see that as an option.

To buy or not to buy: This game is loads of fun and well worth the introductory price of $1.99. Pick it up now while it is still on sale.
