Apple Thinking of Ways to Consolidate Multiple Apple IDs

Multiple Apple IDs

Whether it has caused you a problem yet or not, many of you with iOS devices will have multiple Apple IDs. This is particularly true of those that have Mobile Me accounts or developers who have been evaluating iOS 5 and iCloud. The biggest problem comes when using automated downloads as Apple restricts changing Apple IDs to being no more frequent than every 90 days. This makes switching back and forth difficult if not impossible.

Thankfully, it appears Apple is working on a solution for this.

MacRumors reported that one of their readers had actually contacted Tim Cook directly and received a phone call as a result that indicated Apple was aware of the problem and while there was no way to merge accounts at this time, a solution was being worked on.

If Apple wants us to start relying on their ID system across multiple services and devices, this is going to become increasingly problematic and important to solve.

This isn’t the first time we have seen Cook responsive to the people who contact him. Looks like increased attention to customer service and satisfaction is on his agenda now that he is at the helm.
