For today’s Weekly App Series we’ve found seven great apps to add to your iPad collection. We have included seven apps for recording music in this week’s bundle. Our editorial team goes through the data, picks the best and most interesting apps and then brings them to you on a regular basis.

We used our PadGadget Apps Tracker to find these great apps and we’ll continue to look for the best apps on a weekly basis. Be sure to check them out because these apps might just be what you’re looking for.

This week’s category is: Apps for Recording Music

1.) StudioTrack ($19.99) is a multi-track recorder that lets you use your iPad to record up to eight tracks at a time. You can also add effects to each layer and bounce the recorded tracks to another song, essentially making it an unlimited-track recorder. Tracks can then be loaded into any recording software (DAW) to continue working on songs. This app is a great way for your band to record a full-album.

2.) MultiTrack DAW ($9.99) is a Digital Audio Workstation that lets you record up to 24 audio tracks. You can move and trim tracks and share your songs with others through iTunes file sharing. Build new songs just like in a real recording studio, with the monitoring and overdubbing capabilities of MultiTrack DAW. Move and trim audio until it’s perfect, and mix the sound until it’s just right. Share your creations with Wi-Fi, iTunes file sharing, email, and SoundCloud.

3.) Music Studio ($14.99) is a song recording app that comes with its own instruments. Using a keyboard as the main way to produce sound, this app offers 10 simultaneous touch sounds, two instruments at-a-time capability, 40 different studio recorded instruments and one-touch recording. You don’t even need to own an instrument to create beautiful music with this app. Music Studio offers a complete music production environment for your iPad and iPhone/iPod touch.

4.) Meteor Multitrack Recorder ($19.99) is a digital multi-track recorder for the iPad. It lets you record up to 12 tracks of audio and comes with a built-in mixer and effects processor. The app includes a fully featured sound editor allowing recordings to be trimmed or spliced together. You can apply various effects to your recordings either directly, as part of the recording process or in real time during playback. This is a great app for the solo artist.

5.) PortaStudio ($2.99) is Tascam’s official four-track recorder. Anyone who has recorded their own band has probably used a Tascam. They are truly the best home recording equipment makers. You can record tracks one-at-a-time and mix them down via the “cassette transporter.” A generation of your favorite bands crafted their songs with Portastudios, now it’s your turn. Start capturing your songs with the company that invented home recording using Portastudio. The best part about this app is the price.

6.) studio.HD ($9.99) is a multi-track recorder that acts similarly to a DAW. There are over 900 free loops, plus additional ones you can purchase in-app. There are eight tracks that allows for multiple layers, creating something more like a 24-track recorder. There are additional effects and easy-to-use on the fly mixing. From recording a rap to a beat, to producing dance mixes in the airport, studio.HD ignites creativity. This app is great for dub artists.

7.) Garage Band ($4.99) No music recording list would be complete without including Apple’s most famous song-making app. Similar to Music Studio, Garage Band comes with its own studio quality sounding musical instruments. You can also add effects to your instruments with 9 amps and 10 stompbox effects. Get ready, because GarageBand turns your iPad into a collection of Touch Instruments and a full-featured recording studio. A great way to create and share new songs.

I love using the Ghostwriter Notes app for composing music scores. It has a dedicated music sheet for faster composing. So awesome!
