Fashion’s Night Out iPad Display at Saks Fifth Avenue (New York City)
In honor of the 2011 Fashion’s Night Out event, Saks Fifth Avenue and Stylelist.com have joined together to create a window display for the 5th Avenue flagship store. The interactive and dynamic display spans across three windows and consists of a grid containing 64 iPad 2′s, flanked on either side by nine 27″ Apple Cinema Displays.
The various displays will project Stylelist.com images and content from their newly redesigned website in addition to items contributed by the public in the form of tweets and photos gathered by the intentional use of the #StyleistAtSaks hashtag.
The new Stylelist.com website is just the beginning of their rebranding efforts. Engaging Gin Lane Media, a full-service creative agency providing marketing and branding advice, Stylelist also received a new classic but modern logo.
Stylelist.com is a product from the AOL Huffington Post Media Group. Known for their innovative approach to media and advertising, AOL has found a way to pair art and creativity along with technology and interaction. Given the experience and resources available to the tech giant it only makes sense that they would be a part of this inventive digital advertisement.
The iPads in the window are running a native iOS application that was designed especially for this installation. Features of the software include the ability for interaction among the devices allowing for transitional effects and controls over which display should be showing what content.

Fashion’s Night Out is an annual event that takes place in various locations around the world from New York City to Milan. The event features after-hours shopping that involves celebrities, designers mingling with shoppers in an effort to create an exciting experience. The goal of the organizers is to celebrate fashion while boosting consumer confidence, bolster the economy and encourage shoppers to have fun.
The Saks window display was unveiled on September 1, 2011 and will remain in place until September 19, 2011.
