Avoid Retracing Your Steps in U Connect – iPad Game Review

U ConnectU Connect asks the question ‘is your finger connected to your brain?’ and the answer is more infuriating (in a good way) than conclusive! The point of the game is to connect all of the points on the screen without going over the same line twice. This sounds much easier than it is.

The first levels are pretty easy and will give you a false sense of confidence.

There are over 1000 puzzles, which means you could have a very busy index finger for a while. Once you start, it is difficult to stop, because you just know you can do better.

The game does offer a few modes that switch things up a little bit, including a timed option and another that doesn’t let you undo your lines. You can also choose to try solving as many puzzles as you can in 5 minutes, or see how quickly you can finish 10 levels.

The good news? Many of these puzzles have several options for a successful solution, which means your brain has room to stretch!

What I liked: The interface is really easy to work with. If you make a mistake and want to try again you can always click on the clear button or ask for a hint if you are really stuck.

What I didn’t like: While the chalkboard like appearance is attractive, the contrast isn’t very high on the screen and it is quite difficult to view in low light. I did discover that you can switch to ‘pen’ mode, which offers a higher contrast screen that is an improvement.

To buy or not to buy: I haven’t seen a game like this yet. If you like challenging your brain and competing against yourself, this is exactly the kind of game you are looking for.
