Relive BrickBreaker Nostalgia with Anodia – iPad Game Review
If you are like me and old enough to date your gaming background backward by decades, there is no question you will remember BrickBreaker. It was an addictive game where you were ‘the paddle’ and your goal was to keep the on-screen ball alive by not letting it fall off screen. Beyond that, you needed your ball to hit each of the bricks sitting in a pattern at the top of the playing field. When one was hit, it disappeared. When the field was clear, you won!
The first few levels let you get your gaming legs and can be completed fairly easily, but each subsequent level is much harder.
Each of the 50 levels in this game gives you different obstacles to knock down with a variety of power-ups and and power-downs as well as other goodies that help you play the game better.
One of the neatest things about this game is the ability to either use your finger on-screen in order to control your paddle, or if you prefer, choose tilt controls and use the accelerometer in your iPad to move things around.
With over 30 Game Center achievements, you can be certain the competition among your friends will be intense!
The game advertises a hidden rainbow, but despite my considerable game-play, I wasn’t able to find it. Happy hunting!
What I liked: I do love a game that makes me reminisce, but with a twist. This game reminds me of being a kid, but with enough new stuff to be challenging and interesting.
What I didn’t like: I found the menu interface a little confusing and poorly laid out.
To buy or not to buy: This is definitely a great steal for free, you should grab it and give it a try!
