Make Professional Movies on your iPad 2 with Movie Mount

Makayama Mobile is making a tripod mountable case for the iPad 2. The mount is specially designed to provide movie making possible with Apple’s second generation tablet.

The snug-fitting case is designed to allow the attachment of professional grade camera accessories, like condenser microphones, high-quality lights and 37mm conversion lenses such as tele- and wide angle. The whole thing can be mounted to a stabilizing tripod for smooth shooting. It is important to note that the microphone, lenses, lights and tripod do not come with the case.

The company has also released a free photography app that comes with the following features:

For video capture:

  • Set and lock focuspoint
  • Lock exposure
  • Lock whiteblance
  • Monitor audio recording level
  • Larger timecode
  • Set aspect ratio of viewfinder
  • Monitor battery level
  • Change between front and back camera

For photo capture:

  • Set and lock focuspoint
  • Lock exposure
  • Lock whiteblance
  • Delay timer 5/10/20 seconds
  • Set aspect ratio of viewfinder
  • Up to 5x zooming
  • Monitor battery level
  • Change between front and back camera

The app is designed to work with the Movie Mount, but can be used without it.

The case is scheduled to be released in October 2011 for $69.95, but pre-orders are being accepted now at the company’s website.
