Steve Jobs Bio Rockets Up Amazon’s Bestseller List

Steve Jobs BiographyThe precedent setting biography on Steve Jobs hasn’t even hit the shelves yet, but it’s already a best-seller, currently sitting in 2nd spot! This has to be a bit unexpected for author Walter Isaacson, who has also penned biographies on some of history’s greatest characters including Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Henry Kissinger.

The book comes as the result of over 40 interviews with Jobs, and over 100 interviews with those who know and love him. With Jobs being the kind of character who is a snake charmer to many and enemy to even more, he always appears a little larger than life which should make this an interesting read.

If there is anything Jobs can be credited with, it is building anticipation for a product. This book is no exception as it represents his first-ever authorized biography, the contents of which will be a surprise to everybody. Jobs didn’t even want a sneak peek, even relinquishing all control over what was written.

But that isn’t shocking. Jobs is well known for being as complicated and difficult as he is creative and inventive. Whatever rests inside the covers of this book, I’m confident it will conclude that Jobs is a visionary and a true pioneer in his industry.

News reports confirm that the Isaacson is hard at work on the last chapter, which promises to provide us with details surrounding the announcement that Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple.

Originally slated for release in March 2012, the new November 2011 delivery means the publishers, Simon & Schuster, will capitalize on the public relations frenzy currently going on in addition to arriving in time for the holiday season.

I think if we’re being honest, we all want to read the book to see if we can get even the slightest hint of how he does what he does. I’ll admit, I’ve pre-ordered my copy.

The book, Steve Jobs, is available for pre-order from Amazon for $19.50 and is expected to ship on November 21, 2011. Digital copies will be available from iTunes for $20.99.
