Rent an iPad in NYC with Flying Connected

If you live in New York City and don’t already own an iPad, you may be able to try one out or rent one to take on a trip for as little as $15 a day, thanks to electronic rental service Flying Connected.

Flying Connected, which offers a wide range of devices that customers can rent, is offering Wi-Fi and 3G iPads loaded with data such as apps, movies, books, and magazines.

The service offers three different plans. For $18 a day, you can get a basic no frills Wi-Fi  iPad 2 with access to apps. With the plus plan for $23 a day, you get 3 movies, 5 books, and 2 magazines pre-installed, plus apps, on a 3G iPad with 500MB of data.

This plan also includes two iPad accessories of your choice, such as keyboards, styli, and camera connection kit. The premium plan offers a 3G iPad with MiFi and unlimited data, plus 5 movies, 10 books, and 4 magazines pre-installed. Apps are included, as are 5 iPad accessories of your choice.

Rented iPads and accessories can be picked up at the JFK Airport, or delivered directly to your hotel room in New York City. There’s a delivery fee, but if you are renting an iPad for several days (and rack up a bill of over $100), Flying Connected will bring you the iPad free of charge.

Flying Connected also promises to stick around and teach you the ins and outs of the tablet, so you’re never stuck trying to figure out what to do next. There’s no word on whether or not you get to pick the pre-installed books and movies.

If you’re looking for a way to get Internet and entertainment for a few days on a trip without shelling out the big bucks for your own iPad, this is a great way to go. A 6 day trip will run you about $168, but if you only need an iPad every once in a blue moon, it’s certainly a better deal than purchasing. This is also a great way to have an in-depth test run of an iPad if you’ve been on the fence about buying your own.
