Popular Note-Taking App Evernote Receives Major Update
Evernote has long been one of the most popular organizational apps available in the App Store, used by thousands of people to keep track of notes, ideas, tasks, snapshots, recordings, and any other life happenings.
Today Evernote received a much-anticipated major update with several new features requested by users, such as rich text support, shared notebooks, an overhauled iPad design, and more.
Here’s a closer look at all of Evernote’s new updates:
- Rich Text Support – This hugely useful implementation of rich text will allow users to add styled text (such as bolding, italics, and underlining) to notes, highlight text, add URLs, create headers, and make lists.
- Rich Text Editing – Evernote users can now edit and update notes containing rich text, no matter what device they were created on. Users can also edit notes that contain styles available in iOS.
- Shared Notebooks – Users can access notebooks that other Evernote users have shared, from both the iPhone and the iPad.
- Passcode Lock – Premium Evernote users will now be able to lock the app, requiring a passcode to open it, to keep private information from prying eyes.
- Updated Searching – While Evernote has always allowed users to search across the entire account, functionality has been added to allow users to search within specific notes.
- Slideshow View – There’s a new image viewing mode, named Slideshow View, which is for viewing images attached to a specific note.
- iPad Redesign – The iPad version of Evernote has been redesigned with an all new easy-to-use layout.
If you don’t already use Evernote, now is a great time to check it out. It’s a powerful task manager and note taking app with even more great features after this update. If you do use it, you can download the update in the App Store on your device or via iTunes.
