Words With Friends Facebook App Now Syncs with iPad and iPhone

It wouldn’t be entirely wrong to say that Words with Friends is one of the biggest reasons I decided to take the plunge and buy an iPhone. Sure there were plenty of other compelling reasons, but from the moment I first played this game on my sister’s device, I could really see myself enjoying having one of my own.
I like all sorts of games, but give me one that also allows me to be social and to compete against other real human beings instead of a computer and you’re guaranteed to have my attention.
Words With Friends HD gives you this in a fun, turn-based word game, not unlike Scrabble (though I’m probably not supposed to say that).
Initially developed by Newtoy, the game developer was acquired last December by the social network gaming giant, Zynga. When the company that purchases you is responsible for successful games like FarmVille, it should come as no surprise that complete Facebook integration was eventual.
For a while now you could initiate games with your Facebook friends, but it was really only a handshake between Facebook users that also had mobile devices (Words with Friends is also available for Android). But all that has changed, because now you can seamlessly sync between your mobile device and Facebook itself! This means you can be logged into Facebook through a web browser and playing one moment, then switch to your mobile device in the next, and have the same games available and instantly up to date with all of your latest moves.
Even if you aren’t that excited about Words With Friends like the rest of us junkies (20 million players and counting), the idea itself should sound really cool and laden with potential. This is the beginning of a new era in which integration and communication between different types of devices is not only possible, it’s tested and true.
