Stream Media to Your iOS Device with the Panasonic Pocket Server

Looking for a way to get unlimited media on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch? If you live in Japan and have 14,800 yen to spend (approximately $191 U.S. dollars), check out Panasonic’s new DY-PS10 Pocket Server.

The aptly named Pocket Server is a phone-sized device that is able to stream content from a built-in SD card slot to your iDevice using a wireless connection. A 64 GB SD card will provide users with nearly 90 hours of entertainment.

With a 10 hour battery life, the Pocket Server will last all day and then some, making it great for long trips, bus/train commuter rides, and long doctor’s office waits. It can play H.264 files, JPEGS, and MP3s.

The Panasonic DY-PS10 Pocket Server will go on sale in Japan on September 15th. Unfortunately, there is no information about a U.S. or European release, due to wireless restrictions, so this is strictly for you lucky ducks living in Japan. Hopefully Panasonic will be able to create a similar product for the rest of us at some point in the future.
