Google + Update Adds iPad Support, iOS 5 Compatibility

Google has just released a minor update to its iOS app to include support for the iPad, iPod Touch and iOS 5 compatibility. Until today, the app could not even be installed onto the iPad.

Unfortunately, the app is not universal. You can download it onto the iPad, but you will have to 2X the app if you want the full screen experience.

The update includes compatibility with any iOS running 4.0 or higher (including the beta-tested iOS 5) and has fixed a few bugs from the previous update. You now, also, have more control over your Huddle conversations, like hiding or muting Huddles. You can also rename, decline invitations and leave Huddle conversations from within the app.

Google + for iOS is free and available for download in the App Store. Don’t expect an iPad-optimized version though. We are still waiting for that.

I have to assume that you don’t already have a Google + account. Without a pre-existing Google + account, you can’t sign into the app. If you don’t have a Google + account, don’t worry, Google will open up the invitations again soon. If you do already have an account, but are unable to sign in, I suggest double-checking your user name and password and then contacting the Google + app support for additional help.
