Apple Partners with American Bar Association to Publish Legal E-Books
We’ve got some good news for you lawyers (or prospective lawyers) out there. Whether you’re a first year law student or a practicing attorney, you’ll want to take a look at this new app: iPad in One Hour for Lawyers.
As of today, The American Bar Association and Apple have signed an agreement that makes e-books on legal subjects available for download in the Apple iBookstore. iPad in One Hour for Lawyers is the debut title, and it is currently available for purchase in the iBookstore. This e-book will work on all Apple devices, including the iPhone, the iPad, and the iPod Touch.
iPad in One Hour for Lawyers presents tips and lessons that will be useful to both new and advanced iPad users who are planning on using their iPads to assist them in law school or at work. It teaches readers how to set up the interface, multitask, sync files, manage pleadings, case law, contracts, and other legal documents. It also includes a handy list of the best apps for lawyers, plus dozens of keyboard and browser tips and shortcuts.
In a press release, Andrea Hartley, Chair of the ABA Law Practice Management Section says, “We are thrilled to partner with Apple to offer our cutting-edge legal publications as e-books in the iBookstore. iPad in One Hour for Lawyers, one of our bestselling titles of the year, is the perfect book to mark the launch of the e-book program. Readers can easily download the book on their iPads and learn as they go. We look forward to publishing many more e-books on Apple’s platform in the future.”
While iPad in One Hour for Lawyers is simply a tutorial book for iPad users who also happen to be lawyers, it’s also a sign of good things to come, including many more future legal publications. If you’re a lawyer, this is an app that you may want to check out to make sure you’re getting the most out of what your iPad has to offer. Download this book in the iBookstore for $17.99.
