Action, Adventure and Love – Roboto HD has it all
I just have to say it once: Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto. This new run and gun game is totally radical.
As a hip robot skater you notice a babe checking out your sweet tricks. Time to make a move, but she disappears! The chase is on.
With simple controls, incredible high definition graphics, and over 30 levels Roboto is a must have for gamers of all ages.
Players must use all of the robot dude’s abilities to get to the end of each level. The basics are jumping and hovering, but use them carefully because the blue meter at the top runs out quickly, especially when shooting starts to come in to play.
Enemies will try to keep you from your robotic lass and you can choose to either outrun them or blow them to smithereens with your blaster, which is upgradable later on. The biggest and baddest of the bots are the bosses, which take considerable skill and time to take down.
Some features throw curveballs into the mix by switching the gravity or requiring completion of a mini-puzzle. Don’t forget about using our boy bot’s ability to shred up walls when you’re close to bailing out.
Also included are minigames which can be accessed by completing various tasks throughout gameplay.
What I liked: The graphics are stunning for such an inexpensive game. Simple controls make for a quick learning curve and little frustration.
What I didn’t like: The control stick was too small of an area. Players should be able to control from the entire left side of the screen.
To buy or not to buy: My advice – get it before the price goes up August 8th. It is an entertaining game that has the capacity to keep the attention of players of all ages and with OpenFeint integration it will soon be the talk of the town. Dont miss out!
