It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! No, It’s Super…COW!!

First came Superman, then Superboy, Superdog, all the way down the line to Supercow! Kids of all ages can enjoy the bright high definiton color, rewarding sounds, and simple gameplay in Supercow: funny farm acrade platformer HD.

Players are tasked with finding and stopping the exceedinly evil professor Doriarti, who has escaped from prison and plotted to destroy the entire farm. Just what is he up to? Play through 60 unique levels to find out!

The main menu sports a couple of important buttons. The most important is of course, the Start button. Also on the main menu however, are a series of 5 buttons in the bottom right hand corner. The only two buttons of note that are relevant to gameplay are the +1 heart and the trophy. By linking your game to a social media, players get an extra life! The trophy shows accomplishments achieved by performing extraordinary tasks in the game.

During the first few levels, players are eased into the story and gameplay by a barrage of hint markers. For child players, these will be very important instructions on how to play the game. Once the hint markers stop, the storyline starts and players can begin their epic quest to save the farm.

Along the way, Supercow will meet animals that have either escaped or have recently been saved by Supercow herself. These helpful critters will fill in the holes to find out what exactly professor Doriarti is up to! The journal entries in between levels also provide enterainment, even for parents with their Shrek-like innuendos that are just beyond a child’s realm of understanding.

Also, don’t miss our current Promo Code Contest for a chance to win a free copy of Supercow.

What I liked: Simple, Sonic the Hedgehog-like gameplay combined with bright colors and slot-machine type sounds kept my attention for much longer than I thought it would, and I imagine it will be exponentially longer for your kids!

What I didn’t like: For a children’s game, 60 levels might be a few too many to get through the entire story. After playing so many other games out there, this one feels like a slower start.

To buy or not to buy: As HD graphics become the standard for iPad gaming, we should expect to see prices start to drop but for now $4.99 is more than reasonable for a game with this much play-time.
