The inclusion of two cameras in the iPad 2 made all kinds of fun new photography apps possible, such as Incredibooth from Synthetic Infatuation.

With the advent of digital cameras, the old timey photo booths that we used to see at fairs, grocery stores, and bowling alleys fell by the wayside. There’s no need for a photo booth when everyone carries a portable camera in their pocket.

Now you can have a photo booth in your pocket too, and take awesome photo strip pictures with your friends wherever you are.

Incredibooth is simple and easy to use. As soon as you open the app, you’re taken to a photo window that looks like the monitor inside of a real photo booth. There are arrows to show you where eye level is located, and a camera lens is superimposed over the photo preview to add ambiance.

There are four different camera settings that you can use: BlacKeys SG, Alfie K, Johnny S, and Betsy X. They range from black and white to washed out retro colors. Turn the dial with a finger to choose the filter you want, and then hit the big red button.

The red button sets things in motion, and once you press it, you’ll hear a beeping sound and see a flashing red light. That means your photo is about to be taken, so get ready and strike a funny pose. Four photos will be taken in quick succession.

Once the photos are taken, tap the “photos outside” button to be taken to your photo strip, which is displayed in the classic metal chute that’s typically found on a photo booth. Touching your strip gives you the option to trash it or share it, using Facebook or Email.

The app also displays where your photo was taken and the time that you took it. Tapping a single photo on the strip will also allow you to share just one photo from the four.

Incredibooth is a lot of fun and is a great way to get some use out of the iPad 2’s front facing camera. Use this app with friends and at parties for some retro entertainment that can be shared with everyone.
