Cross Fingers Tangram Puzzle Game – iPad App Review

When I first started playing with Cross Fingers, I was a bit disappointed by how easily I was solving the puzzles. Boy, was that a mistake! A quick flip from the ‘Easy’ difficulty level to ‘Normal’ made me quickly realize how challenging these puzzles can be. That, and addictive!

Modeled after the Chinese tangram, meaning a dissection puzzle, you must manipulate several smaller shapes into one larger image. The pieces cannot overlap and in the case of this game, cannot occupy the same physical space –so you must move pieces out of the way in order to slide others past. This task is made more difficult with the addition of special red pieces that don’t stay where you put them. This means you often need two hands in order to hold them in place while you move others.

Completing puzzles earns you free stars which allows you to unlock additional levels. If you are impatient or want a sneak peak on what levels labeled as ‘insane’ might look like, you can purchase stars in-app as well.

What I liked: I am glad that your solution of the puzzles is timed. It adds an incentive to replay levels in an effort to beat your own time, giving you more game-play.

What I didn’t like: The app is very graphically bland. A little more color or adding something that switched things up a bit would go a long way to making this app more engaging.

To buy or not to buy: If you like challenging puzzle games, you will like this one. Grab it quickly while it is still free and enjoy!
