Jump And Fly Goes Free

Jump and Fly is a highly addictive game that is very similar to the popular Doodle Jump app. Although similar in game play, Jump and Fly has a style all its own. It is on sale for free for a limited time, so get it while it’s hot for hours of fun.

Your job is to help the… winged ninja (or possibly a fly) bounce his way to the ever-reaching top. Using the gyroscope feature, you must tilt your iPad left and right to get your guy to the next platform. Along the way, you are supplied with trampolines, puffy clouds, windmills and fans to help boost you to heights unknown, but if you miss a platform, you are doomed. There is no safety net in this game. You must collect stars, smash enemies and avoid falling in this fast-paced thrill ride to the stars.

The graphics are adorable and original. The soundtrack is cute and unassuming. This game is difficult to play, but not frustrating. Even though you may miss a platform and fall to your demise, you can pick right back up again and try to gain as many points as possible. Jump and Fly has Game Center integration with plenty of achievements.

What I liked: The graphics are adorable and the game play is smooth. Although it is tough to get going, once you get the hang of things, you can Jump and Fly for hours.

What I didn’t like: I am not a big fan of using the iPad’s gyroscope feature. I find gaming to be cumbersome to have to tilt the 10-inch device for a long time. I would like to see an option to choose virtual joysticks or tilt-to play.

To buy or not to buy: Get it today, while its free, but don’t pass it by if you missed the sale. This game is well worth the $0.99 you would normally pay.
