Created by Culilnart Media, this recipe book is the perfect addition to your backyard summer party. There are over 50 grilling recipes in this app, and we’re not talking about how to cook a hot dog, these are high-class recipes to wow your friends and neighbors.
When selecting a recipe, you can either browse through them alphabetically, or you can select from categories like, seafood, or chicken. Each category has around 10- 12 recipes. Each recipe has additional features to enhance the digital book experience.
You can set a timer within the app for an allotted amount of time. For example, if a recipe calls for you to grill a steak for five minutes per side, there is a timer you can select and it will let you know when your five minutes are up. There is no need to go to another app, or get out your watch. Additionally, you can learn tidbits of information about certain ingredients, like the definition of filet mignon, or what lemons have been used for, other than eating, in the past.
You can also send a recipe to your menu and email it to someone. This feature has the invitation already prepared and you just need to add the details, when where and why, and email the invite to friends and family. The app also allows you to send the ingredients to a shopping list for easy access at the grocery story. You can adjust the recipe for how many people it will feed from two to four. There is a “favorites” section where you can add all of your favorite recipes as well. The Developers promise an update to include cooking technique videos for an even more interactive experience.
What I liked: The recipes look perfect for backyard grilling. You are not relegated to burgers and steaks, this app offers such delights as chicken stuffed with mozzarella and zucchini, or bananas with rum and whipped cream.
What I didn’t like: There are only 50 recipes. That may seem reasonable, but I’ve seen a lot of recipe apps that offer twice as much for half the price. Hopefully, along with the video update, the developers will include a few more recipes, free of charge.
To buy or not to buy: As recipe books go, it is reasonably priced and offers some amazing outdoor grilling recipes. This is a good buy, but not a great deal.
