Disney Launches Comics App for iOS
Today Disney Publishing Worldwide released a new Disney Comics app for the iPad, the iPhone, and the iPod Touch.
You watch your favorite Disney characters on TV, in the movies, in storybooks, and now you can experience all the delightful, charming Disney characters in comic book form too. There are comics for every Disney fan, from Tangled and Toy Story to classics like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
The Disney Comics App is a portal that gives readers access to a huge collection of comics, short stories, and graphic novels. There are over 50 comics for readers of all ages, including cartoon characters and even feature-film based comics like Tron: Legacy and High School Musical. Disney Publishing is slated to release two additional comics per week, so there will always be something new to read.

“Comics are a tremendous part of our heritage and we see great potential and interest in bringing our extensive catalog of Disney Comics to mobile devices,” said Russell Hampton, President, Disney Publishing Worldwide. “We create over 25,000 original comic pages each year and it’s critical that we deliver this content to our readers around the world. We have over 1 billion Disney comic readers today, and our Disney Comics App will further broaden that audience.”
In the new comics app, readers can choose from landscape or portrait mode, and automatic or manual smart paneling. Before making a purchase, you can preview a comic, and share comics with Facebook friends. All content is able to be saved on your device for offline reading.

The new Disney Comics app is currently available in the App Store for free. Individual comics cost $.99, and bundles are available for $3.99 using in-app purchases.
