Speck Redesigns CandyShell Wrap for iPad2

We reviewed Speck’s CandyShell Wrap for iPad favorably when it debuted. Now Speck offers a redesign of its popular case. As with all of the products in Speck’s CandyShell line, the case features the hard outer shell coupled with a “soft, rubberized lining” to keep your tablet both safe and looking stylish.

The new case is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor. It also has an integrated cover that detaches, flips closed, and folds into a stand for viewing or typing. There is also a flip-back panel that is compatible with the iPad 2 dock or a keyboard, should you choose to use one.

The CandyShell Wrap is a semi-flexible case. Its outer shell is made of tough TPE and Polycarbonate, in contrast with the soft rubberized interior and button covers, all of which are designed for shock absorption and protection.

At this time it is unclear if there is now a way to fasten the cover to prevent if from coming open when it is closed over the screen. This was one of our only complaints about the first version of the case.

The case is currently available for pre-order from Speck in DarkLord Black for $54.95.
