Jumpstart My ABC Book is a colorful alphabet-learning app for ages 2-5. Filled with engaging songs and poems, this audio-centric app is a great way for your little one to learn the alphabet.
You have two main options with Jumpstart My ABC. The first option is to play a game wherein you must match a letter of the alphabet with a corresponding sticker that starts with that letter. When the letter appears, a chorus of children pronounces it. When you pick the correct image, a narrator says what the image is, if you are correct, you receive a check and the next letter appears.
The second option is more like free play. Each letter has a selection of stickers for you to decorate the page with. In this section, you can hear each letter of the alphabet spoken by a chorus of children as you add your stickers. You can take a picture of your masterpiece and save it to the app’s photo album. In this mode, you can also hear songs about each letter as sung by children and listen to a short poem about each letter as well.
Because of the catchy tunes and the repeatable alphabet chorus, this is a guaranteed way for little ones to learn their ABCs.
What I liked: As a parent, one might get sick of hearing the over-excited chorus of kids shouting out the alphabet, but I think this is the best feature of this book.
What I didn’t like: The interactive sticker feature is a bit lack-luster. It might be nice to have more images.
To buy or not to buy: This book is reasonably priced at only $1.99 and seems like a great way for toddlers to learn their ABCs.
