New PC Gadgets has just released their newest iPad display stand, iPad 2 Display Dock. Based on the iPad “smart sign” found at Apple retail stores across the U.S., this acrylic beauty looks absolutely stunning and displays your iPad like a piece of artwork.
According to the company’s press release, the design was based on the idea that customers we requesting to purchase the “smart signs” because they liked the way they looked. New PC Gadget took the display stand and improved it by including a higher angle and an additional charging dock for you iPhone or iPod. The base is made of high polished acrylic and is recessed to hold your iPad flush to the case in the landscape position.
Although this case looks very classy and would dress up any environment, it is hard to see this as a viable case for your iPad. Additionally, the angle is not high enough for you iPad to be seen head-on, you have to look down at it, so it doesn’t seem like a viable iPad display stand either. Other than being a pretty piece of office art, this stand is somewhat unnecessary. However, there have been enough requests for a stand like this, that the company must have reason to believe it will be a success.
