Apple Releases iWorks Suite of Apps for iPhone and iPod Touch

Apple announced today that they have extended their iWorks Suite of productivity Apps beyond the iPad to now include support for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Originally created for the Mac and then released for the iPad earlier last year, this family of apps gives you the power of a world class word processor, the ability to create spreadsheets as well as the ability to develop beautiful presentations – now on any iOS device.
Harnessing the power of the Apple Multi-Touch interface, these apps make it very easy to create, edit, organize and share documents from your device. The real power however, is in the extensibility. Keynote, pages and Numbers all import and export documents from iWork and Microsoft Office formats. They also allow you to print wirelessly.
Document management has been updated for use with iOS, including the use of thumbnail images and folders to make it easier to identify, organize and then work with your documents.
Key features of each app include:
Keynote
- Create presentations
- Include animated charts and images
- Insert transitions between slides
- Play your presentation in full screen or connect to a projector or HDTV
- Remote app is available as an additional purchase to allow control of a presentation from any iOS device or Mac
Pages
- Powerful word processor
- All of the features and functionality you have come to expect
- Smart Zoom allows you to zoom in on your cursor while you are editing and zoom out when complete
Numbers
- Fully featured spreadsheet creation ability
- 250 easy-to-use functions including flexible tables and charts
- Also takes advantage of Smart Zoom, allowing you to zoom in on the cell you are working with and zoom out once complete
